Moon + Lake + Birds + Reeds , Uros Islands, Lake Titicaca, Peru

Updated: Dec 31, 2018

One of the most enduring indigenous communities in the world is the Uros peoples. They speak a pre-Incan language called "Aymara" and have thrived in the watery world of Totora Reeds in the world's highest navigable lake, about 3800m above sea level.

Trina has been embraced by a family of Uros. And has been taught some of the precious reed boat building techniques by Senor Carlos Lujano and his sons. Through the S.P.A. Aqua Prima, Trina wishes to share the vision with the Uros community; and to partner with them in creating a more nurturing water world in Peru.
