Maddy Collins

Growing up in Australia, Maddy pursued soccer at a competitive level where she experienced a number of sporting injuries. She was first introduced to hydrotherapy as a patient for her management.

Having experienced the benefits first hard, and a long standing interest in exercise, Maddy went on to achieve credentials as a Sports and Exercise Scientist and then a Masters degree in Physiotherapy.

As a Physiotherapist, she also trained in clinical Pilates, and applied some of these principles to her hydrotherapy practice.

She assisted in the delivery of hydrotherapy at the local public pool on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland before re-locating with her partner to Canada.

Maddy continues to treat a variety of patients in the pool i.e. sports and orthopaedic injuries, pre and post surgical patients including joint replacements, neurological conditions, rheumatologic conditions, and chronic pain sufferers.

With her family now living in Bragg Creek, Alberta, Maddy enjoys exploring the outdoor trails on foot, skis, or wheels.

She also practices at the Cochrane Spray Lakes Sports Clinic and facilitates their hydrotherapy programs.

Maddy has recently become a Mum to a beautiful boy – “Benji”, and she loves sharing her passions with her new little sidekick.   When her feet are up, Maddy has cheese and chocolate nearby and is dreaming of that next trip abroad.
